
A new batch of free games has been spotted on Steam by X users @SteamGamesPC. Most of these newly released freebies became available in early July 2025, and quite a number of them have good ratings by players who have already tried them.
Yet another batch of new free games has dropped on Steam, and like the previous rounds, these freebies fall into different categories. Given that they were released in early July or late June 2025, many don’t have a player rating yet, but there are some that are already well-received by players. Here’s a little more about those that have good ratings:
- The Population Must Grow – released on July 4, it’s said to be a simple city builder, but as the population grows, things can get out of hand. It currently has a “Positive” rating that’s based on 13 reviews.
- a pig game: A Pee Wee Premiere – also became available on Steam on July 4, this free game claims to have unique acrobatic platforming mechanics. It’s full of puzzles and platforming challenges, and it has proper controller support (Flydigi Direwolf 3 curr. $32.99 on Amazon). The freebie currently features the “Positive” rating that’s based on 19 reviews.
- 100 Cats Lost In Japan Find & Color – a casual indie free game that launched on Steam on July 3. It has a hand-drawn map and an online co-op mode. The title is currently rated “Very Positive.”
- Bobcos – described as a 2D multiplayer sandbox game with a vibrant world that players can explore. It launched on Steam on July 5 and currently has a “Mostly Positive” rating.
- Brainrot Battle Royale – an online PvP battle royale game that’s heavily influenced by Gen Z culture. It became available on Steam as a freebie on July 5, and the title currently features a “Very Positive” rating that’s based on 55 reviews.
- Culinary Wizard – said to be a magical action platformer with a 32-bit pixel art style and traditional side-scroller action. It became available as a free game on July 1 and currently has a “Positive” rating.
- Atuel – described as an award-winning documentary game with a heavy focus on exploration. It launched on Steam on June 30, and it currently features a “Positive” rating with 49 player reviews.
- Realm Runner – a 3D fast-paced action platformer that launched on Steam on June 30. It currently has the “Positive” rating that’s based on 15 player reviews.
- Bling: Fortune Memories – described as a 2D grid game that’s filled with traps, hidden secrets, and challenges. It became available on July 1 and currently has a “Positive” player rating.
- Hold Me Still – a point-and-click puzzle title with a short story. It launched on Steam on July 7 and currently features a “Positive” rating that’s based on 20 player reviews.
