Alienware x16 R2 review: This gaming laptop is more powerful than ever — most of the time
This gaming laptop is still full of RGB and great aesthetics, but now includes Intel Core Ultra and other upgrades inside.
What’s great about the Alienware x16 R2 laptop?
This is one of those laptops that stands out from the crowd, thanks to its bold design and powerful specifications. This particular model features an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor that’s paired with 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of SSD storage. And since this is a gaming laptop, you’re also getting a monster graphics card with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5080.
Furthermore, this laptop features a large 16-inch screen with a refresh rate that tops out at 240Hz. You also get 100% DCI-P3 and support for Nvidia’s G-Sync technology. The sound setup is also quite robust with this laptop, with two tweeters and four woofers. Connectivity is also quite good as well, with three USB-C, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, microSD, mini DisplayPort, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Of course, you also get wireless connectivity as well, with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. There’s a 1080p web camera with dual array microphones for video calls, and plenty of RGB lighting that can also be customized. As you can imagine, you aren’t going to have much trouble running the latest games, or even getting some creative work done with this unit.
It’s an absolute beast and the price, set at $2,000 after the generous discount, makes it one worth picking up if you’ve been thinking about buying something with a ton of power.
