Brazil’s Ministry of Finance has officially authorized LOTTUBET to operate sports betting and online gaming in the country, expanding the footprint of the Esportes Gaming Brasil group. The decision was formalized through Ordinance No. 1,559, published on Thursday by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA).
The new ordinance updates a previous regulation issued in January 2025, which granted Esportes Gaming Brasil permission to operate under the Esportes da Sorte and Onabet brands. With LOTTUBET now added, the group is allowed to operate three distinct betting platforms within Brazil’s regulated framework, both online and through in-person channels.
The authorization was made in accordance with Ordinance No. 136 of January 22, 2025, and reflects a recent ruling in a confidential judicial proceeding. The decision was recorded under SEI process No. 19995.000272/2025-49, indicating legal clearance for the inclusion of LOTTUBET as a recognized brand within the Esportes Gaming Brasil portfolio.
The ordinance was signed by the Secretary of Prizes and Betting, under the authority granted by Article 55, Section I, of Annex 1 of Decree No. 11,907, dated January 30, 2024. It also draws on the legal frameworks established under Law No. 13,756 of December 12, 2018, and Law No. 14,790 of December 29, 2023, which lay out the structure and rules for Brazil’s sports betting and online gaming markets.
The updated Article 1 of Ordinance No. 136 now officially reads: “Trademarks: ESPORTES DA SORTE, ONABET, and LOTTUBET.” Esportes Gaming Brasil’s expanded license enables it to operate all three brands simultaneously.
