Thomas Frank has now sent a classy message to former Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham fans in his first press conference as head coach.
One could say Ange Postecoglou walked so Thomas Frank could run, and while the Dane has not achieved anything on the field of play, Tottenham’s intent in the transfer window is proof of what Postecoglou’s Europa League triumph accomplished.
Four signings have arrived in north London so far, with three of those coming under Frank, with Tottenham showing genuine ambition as they were willing to spend £115 million in the space of 48 hours, following the signing of Kudus for £55 million and the activation of Morgan Gibbs-White’s £60 million release clause.
If Spurs continue to show similar intent throughout the window, Thomas Frank could very well end up with three more new additions, as Tottenham are reportedly targeting a number six, a striker and a promising young talent.
Thomas Frank praises Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham fans in first Spurs press conference
While Postecoglou’s season three sequel was cut short following his sacking, Thomas Frank, now speaking in his first press conference as Tottenham boss, was quick to send a classy message to the former Tottenham manager.
Frank said (football.london): “First and foremost, Ange will forever be a legend here at Tottenham. One of only three who have won a European trophy here and the first in 41 years.”
The Dane, in his message, revealed how proud he is to be part of the next chapter in Tottenham’s history, stating that he will do everything he can to take Spurs to new heights.
He added: “I am very proud to sit in this chair and be a part of the next chapter in Tottenham’s history. I will do everything every day to hopefully take this club to new heights. That is the ambition. I would not do it if I did not have big ambitions.”
Frank’s Brentford record offers encouragement ahead of first Spurs season
Of course, managing a club of Tottenham’s stature is something Frank has never done in his career, having managed Brondby IF and Denmark’s national youth team sides.
However, his track record at Brentford is sure to give Spurs fans a measure of confidence heading into the upcoming season, as Frank has a history of punching above his weight.
The Dane, during his time at Brentford, managed to keep the Bees in the Premier League since they secured promotion to England’s top flight back in 2021, and even achieved two top-half finishes in his last three seasons.

That said, coaching Tottenham is a completely different test, as the pressure of competing on all fronts is expected to mount, with Spurs set to play in the FA Cup, UEFA Champions League and the Premier League.
