What Daniel Levy is now thinking about Tottenham’s Morgan Gibbs-White deal

Journalist Ben Jacobs has provided an interesting update about Nottingham Forest’s attempts to prevent Morgan Gibbs-White from joining Tottenham Hotspur, and has also shed light on what Daniel Levy is thinking about the transfer.

Nottingham Forest are continuing to fight to stop Tottenham from landing Gibbs-White for £60m after the Lilywhites met his release clause last week.

The Midlands side are alleging that Spurs made an illegal approach to the player and have obtained information on his release clause, which was meant to be confidential.

Some sources believe that Spurs now need to pay more than £60m to land Gibbs-White, but according to the latest updates, it does not seem as if the North Londoners are planning to increase their offer.

Daniel Levy believes Morgan Gibbs-White will be a Tottenham player soon

Journalist Ben Jacobs has now revealed on the Last Word on Spurs podcast that Nottingham Forest have not officially taken any legal action against Tottenham Hotspur.

He also confirms that the Premier League are not officially investigating Spurs’ alleged ‘illegal’ approach for Gibbs-White at the moment.

Jacobs also made an appearance on the Spurs Related podcast, where he says that the attacking midfielder remains keen on a switch to N17.

However, he makes it clear that Tottenham are sticking to their position, with Daniel Levy and his legal team of the opinion that they have not done anything wrong.

The journalist adds that the Spurs chairman believes that the triggering of Gibbs-White’s release clause was legitimate and expects the deal to eventually get done.

Gibbs-White has set a deadline to complete Spurs move

Several sources have claimed over the last few days that Spurs are keen to complete the Gibbs-White signing within the next few days.

It has been claimed by The Daily Mail that Morgan Gibbs-White has set Monday as the deadline to join Tottenham, with the attacking midfielder wanting to complete the move before Forest fly out to Portugal for their pre-season camp.

It was claimed by The Times earlier this week that Thomas Frank wants Gibbs-White in his squad before July 28, which is when the Spurs squad departs for their pre-season tour of Asia.
