Two universally praised PS4 games are at the risk of being delisted from PS Store as soon as tomorrow, July 17. Playdead’s Inside and Limbo are so far confirmed for removal on GOG, but other platforms may follow. Players are warned that this might be their last chance to purchase the games digitally.
PS4 games Inside and Limbo possibly being pulled from PS Store due to legal dispute
Although we currently have no confirmation that Inside and Limbo are being removed from every platform, players have good reason to be worried. Playdead’s founders Arnt Jensen and Dino Patti are currently embroiled in a high-profile legal dispute, and speculation suggests that it’s because of this dispute that Inside and Limbo are being pulled from sale.
So far, only GOG has confirmed that the games are being removed from their platform. Frustratingly, no reason has been given for the sudden removal, but it’s very unlike GOG to simply yank games off of the platform.
This has led players to assume that Inside and Limbo will be gone from other storefronts including the PS Store tomorrow, but we won’t find out until it actually happens. There’s no comment from Playdead, which is now under Jensen’s control, on the matter.
Here’s hoping that any removal will be temporary.
