Elden Ring Nightreign patch fixes annoying Everdark Sovereign Sentient Pest fight bugs

From Software has released Patch 1.01.5 for Elden Ring Nightreign across PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

While only a small update, it’s a welcome one which fixes frustrating bugs players were experiencing with the Everdark Sovereign Sentient Pest fight ahead its return later this month.

While taking on the more challenging version of the Sentient Pest boss battle, players were discovering they were getting stuck and unable to finish the fight. And if that wasn’t annoying enough, there was a second bug which was occasionally causing the Everdark Sovereign Sentient Pest boss to appear outside of the battle area.

However, both of these bugs have been addressed and fixed in this new patch update, just before the challenging boss returns to the game tomorrow, July 17th.

Nightreign is a popular spinoff of Elden Ring with a focus on roguelike and cooperative mechanics. Elden Ring itself had a huge following after winning Game of the Year in 2022. The new roguelike action RPG addition to the franchise was then revealed at the 2024 Game Awards.

Nightreign then went on to immediately sell two million copies on its release day on May 20th, 2025. Last month, it was reported that almost 60% of the game’s players had played the game for over 20 hours, while 20% had played over 50 hours.

The spinoff sees teams of three players head out and explore the world of Limveld while trying to defeat an extremely powerful and challenging boss over the course of three in-game days.

For experienced Elden Ring players, it’s an exciting change of pace and opportunity to use weapons and spells they normally wouldn’t touch in a regular playthrough. However, the brutal and gruelling game is less fun for newcomers who aren’t used to the franchise’s extreme difficulty.

Elden Ring Nightreign recently experienced a huge spike in returning players as the player count increased by 69.9% last month with the release of Gaping Jaw, the first-ever Everdark Sovereign boss.

Everdark Sovereign boss encounters are more powerful versions of previous bosses, which players can unlock by defeating the enemy’s original, normal-difficulty counterpart. The available Everdark Sovereign bosses that players can attempt to defeat rotate in pairs every Wednesday.

The Everdark Sovereigns have returned to Nightreign this month with Gaping Jaw and Darkdrift Knight available now. Then from tomorrow July 17th until July 24th, Sentient Pest and Darkdrift Knight will be the available pair before the month ends with Sentient Pest and Gaping Jaw between July 24th and July 31st.
