A major A-road has reopened after emergency services closed it off in both directions amid “concerns for the welfare of a person” spotted nearby.
Traffic on the A2070 at Ashford was brought to halt in the early hours of Tuesday morning after the individual was seen by the roadside.

Posting on X shortly before 2am, National Highways advised that the route was blocked in both directions – between the M20, junction 10A and the A2042, Kingsnorth.
A police spokesperson said this morning: “Kent Police was called at 1.14am to concerns for the welfare of a person near the A2070 at Ashford.
“Officers attended the scene and they were passed into the care of health professionals.”
National Highways posted just before 4am, saying the road had reopened.
