Whenever life puts me in survival mode, I put on my VR headset, log in, press start, and get into action mode. Well, the plot twist in life can be unpredictable but your gaming storyline does not have to be. I do this every time, and trust me, I come back feeling better.
Now, I might not have a lot of real trophies, but I have so many in my digital world, and I plan on having more of them. However, the gaming world is changing. New modes, events, characters, and player activities are being introduced. Well, who is surprised because I knew the word ‘evolution’ was going to hit the game world soon like a storm.
With that being said, today I, being a certified gamer, am going to state some of my gaming predictions which I believe are coming at us in full force. I am ready, but are you? If not, you will be after you read my prediction.
8 Gaming Trends That Will Change The Gaming Industry
- Cloud-Based Gaming
Every gamer knows how difficult it is to be patient while the games are downloading. Sometimes, it takes forever, and straight up drains my soul. Now, you can use CyberGhostVPN or ExpressVPN to make your life easier, but what if you don’t want to? Well, rescue is here with cloud-based gaming.
So, what actually is cloud-based gaming? Cloud-based gaming involves going to a server and playing games there. Basically, you log in and play the games you want to. I love how this sounds like watching different shows on Netflix, but for games.
Everything is sorted once you sign into a server and pick the games you want to play. This has got to be one of my favorite ways to play games because you don’t need to buy gaming CDs or delete stuff and make storage space in your system. It also involves no installing and downloading disasters, which most of the gamers will love.
- AAA Gaming
With so many people getting into the gaming world, there is more demand for triple-A gaming. AAA gaming is basically the blockbuster for games. For example, Call of Duty, The Last of Us are all top-tier, high-budget games, and that is what AAA gaming means.
Yes, it comes with a massive budget, but that is invested in graphics, user interface, various modes, and availability. You will easily know about an
AAA game once you see the hype of it in the markets and online. Yes, the investment goes towards advertising, too. I think this makes room for fan theories and pre-orders, which again is a big part of the show.
Now comes the real question: Are AAA games all bluff and no game? Practically no. So far, all the AAA games that I have played are 11/10. I have zero complaints and no notes because that’s how all AAA games are in terms of visuals, playing abilities, and to give a gamer the utmost gaming experience.
- Live Streaming Content
You must be living under a rock if you did not know about live streaming content. I am sure you’re already aware of Twitch; but here’s the real tea, now gamers stream their games live on YouTube and TikTok too. The demand and audience engagement are what is encouraging this gaming trend.
Since different people are on various platforms, live streaming gaming has gone multi-platform mode. Kudos to whoever came up with this idea because now people can enjoy it more, and also, new people are getting introduced to the gaming world. I am in it too. I stream on various platforms, and if you are smart at it, then you can make bank on each platform.
Live streaming gaming content is already on the rise. It’s not a trend anymore, it is starting a movement. If you are a gamer and you were missing out on this opportunity, then don’t sleep on it anymore and click on the ‘Go live’ option now.
- Metaverse Gaming
Another gaming trend that is going to be super popular in the coming years is Metaverse gaming. If you think gaming is a part-time job, metaverse gaming is like a full-time job because it is always ongoing.
Just like you can buy outfits, equipment, and accessories on Roblox and Call of Duty, you can do the same on the Metaverse, but with a more immersive experience, such as shopping, attending contests, and earning real money. Hence, it’s like playing your normal games but being more connected in them.
With metaverse gaming, I will surely be able to play my favourite games, but I will also be living in a futuristic, digital world. Basically, Meta is trying to create a parallel universe, but in a gaming version.
- AR/VR gaming
AR and VR games are already all over the market. From children to teens and adults, everybody fancies a good VR headset for playing. Back in the day, I had a craze for VR games until Pokémon GO came, and now I was into AR games as well. Both VR and AR games are attracting a large portion of the online gaming world.
I think it is justified since it allows you to escape reality or remix reality. Either way, for gamers like me, the experience is enriched, and with just a single headset or AR glasses, you can tap into another world. Now, how cool is that?
- Cross-Platform Gaming
I remember one time I was playing Avatar, and suddenly my annoying brother stepped into the room. Well, I was playing in HIS room with HIS PS5. Long story short, he needed to play another game with his friends, and I needed to complete my Avatar stage.
So, I left my brother’s room in peace and continued playing the same stage on my laptop. Yes, this is the power of cross-platform gaming. You can log into the same stage on a different device. Cool right? Wait until you try it out.
However, there is one catch, and that is you need to be logged into the same account to play the games across different devices. Once you handle this small step, the big chaos is ghosted.
- Haptic Gaming
Now this is the real deal, which I am looking forward to in the coming years. If regular gaming is about experience, haptic gaming is more about feeling it, like literally. Imagine you are playing with swords and you feel the opponent’s sword across your chest. Well, not realistically, but for the thrills of it. Same goes for F1 games, where your car set trembles, giving you the real racing experience.
Haptic gaming is all about feeling the game and experiencing it in real time using all of your senses. You feel every tap, hit, and explosion. Basically, you are not in the game, but you THE GAME.
- Earning Through Games
In this economy, everybody’s ears perk up when you mention earning opportunities through games. Sounds like a passive income idea on easy mode. Back in the day this was a limited option for pro gamers only. I still remember how hard I worked to upgrade my levels and finally start earning. However, with more people indulging in social media creation and gaming together, more games with earning opportunities will be encouraged. I think it is only the beginning, and it is going to grow from here.
Surely, this initiative will ignite a passion among gamers to play more seriously. I know I will. Currently, you have to wait for certain tournaments and levels to earn, but hopefully, this will change in the future. I am assuming there will be divisions based on how much a gamer earns and levels up in the game, but as long as you can earn, who am I to complain?
Conclusion
Everything is levelling up, and so is the gaming world. I remember how back in the day, playing games was considered childish, and now it has become a source of leisure and income for children and adults, too. Also, I am not talking about coins but breaking the bank.
Now it is not just a hobby, but a means of earning recognition, clout, and movie premieres too. I have already started upgrading my gear physically and mentally. What about you? Are you ready to press ‘start’ when all of these predictions come into action at full force?
