Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be amongst a host of clubs interested in a big-name Serie A striker, but Manchester United could steal a march on them.
Tottenham Hotspur’s ongoing search for a new centre-forward has seen several names emerge as potential options, and the list is growing rapidly.
Brentford striker Yoane Wissa is among those linked with Tottenham, as new boss Thomas Frank is reportedly keen on reuniting with the forward who hit 19 Premier League goals last season.
Another forward option being monitored by Spurs is Evan Guessand, although Tottenham face stiff competition from Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce, who have also shown interest in the Nice striker.
Tottenham eye Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic transfer
CaughtOffside are now reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are one of several clubs weighing up a summer move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.
The 25-year-old Serbian international scored 17 goals and provided five assists in 44 appearances last season, and has reportedly been made available for transfer by the Italian giants.
Spurs are keeping close tabs on developments, with Juventus open to selling the forward amid interest from several Premier League sides and clubs in the Middle East.
Vlahovic is entering the final year of his Juventus contract, which is set to expire next summer, and that could open the door for a cut-price transfer.
Manchester United explore swap deal involving Jadon Sancho
Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa are also in the race for the striker, but Manchester United appear to be leading the chase, with a potential player swap deal on the table.
Reports suggest the Red Devils have opened talks with Juventus over including Jadon Sancho in the deal, a move that could work for all parties given Sancho’s availability and Juventus’ long-standing admiration for the winger.
Interest from Saudi Arabia remains, but the report adds that Vlahovic has rejected approaches from the Middle East for now, preferring to continue his career in Europe.
