Tony Hawk Comments On Music Changes in Pro Skater 3 + 4

The legendary and iconic skater Tony Hawk has addressed the new and varied soundtrack in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, aware of the fact that some fans would have liked to see more classic tracks from previous games included. A handful of fan-favorite songs previously featured in the video game series include Goldfinger’s Superman, Bad Religion’s You, and Anthrax’s Bring the Noise, but THPS 3 + 4’s song list is designed to help skaters discover new music.

Released on July 11, THPS 3 + 4 is a remake of 2001’s Pro Skater 3 and 2002’s Pro Skater 4, and includes pro skaters Leo Baker, Bam Margera, Lizzie Armanto, and many more on the roster. Some of this entry’s special guest skaters feature Doom Slayer and Michelangelo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. THPS 3 + 4 is also part of an exciting list of Xbox Game Pass titles available to play in July, joining Pentiment, Mafia: Definitive Edition, and id Software’s latest Doom Slayer entry, Doom: The Dark Ages.

During an interview with BBC News, Hawk commented on THPS 3 + 4’s soundtrack choices, noting he wanted to “keep it fresh.” The skater noted that the new soundtrack is somewhat designed to help skaters discover new music, saying, “Once the soundtrack was a prominent part of the game, people were like ‘Ok, what are you going to throw at us now?’” Hawk previously commented on THPS 3 + 4’s new songs, saying it was his choice to pick an array of different songs by beloved artists featured in previous games. However, the skater confirmed in this recent interview that he does not solely govern the soundtrack, and “not everyone agreed” with the choice to feature new songs by familiar bands. “I’m not the only decider in these soundtracks, but I did manage to throw a couple of bands in,” Hawk explained.
