Liam Gallagher was on the receiving end of boos at Oasis’ Manchester show after he dedicated a song to Pep Guardiola.
The Manchester City manager was in the crowd in Heaton Park on Friday night as the legendary British band performed in their hometown for the first time in 16 years.
Liam and Noel Gallagher were given a hero’s welcome as they walked out hand in hand in front of 80,000 fans at Heaton Park.
And while the crowd were thrilled to see the brothers back on stage after years of feuding, there was one moment which left some in attendance slightly less pleased.
Midway through the gig, frontman Liam stopped to make a special dedication before a performance of ‘D’You Know What I Mean?’
Before getting his rendition underway, he proudly pointed out Guardiola in the crowd, who has managed the Gallagher brothers’ beloved club City since 2016.

He said: “I want to dedicate this next tune to the greatest manager of all time, the one and only Pep Guardiola.”
Liam then bowed down in the direction of the legendary coach, who has guided the Citizens to six Premier League titles.
But the mention of Guardiola’s name clearly didn’t go down well with everyone, as it sparked boos from sections of the crowd.
This prompted Noel to snap back: “Who you f****** booing? Who you f****** booing?”
The video then panned to a life-sized cut-out of Guardiola which was positioned stage, with a Man City flag around his neck.
Most fans were able to see the funny side of things, with laughter being heard in the crowd before the band delivered a powerful performance of their song.
Meanwhile, Guardiola looks to be as big a fan of Oasis as the Gallagher brothers are of him, as he was seen enjoying the historic night.
The 54-year-old was joined by his daughter, Maria, among the masses at Heaton Park, with the pair being spotted belting out the words to the anthem, ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’.
Guardiola managed to endear himself even more to City supporters by wearing a retro club shirt to the concert.
Even before the show, he could be seen spending time with the Gallagher brothers’ family backstage.
The iconic manager was treated to VIP access, and was pictured alongside Noel’s sons Donovan and Sonny, and daughter Anais, and Liam’s boys Gene and Lennon.
And Guardiola clearly isn’t the only member of his Man City contingent who is an Oasis fan, with current star Jack Grealish also being spotted at the gig.
While Grealish is free to leave the club this summer, he made it clear just how at home he feels in Manchester, as he shared an emotional moment with the club’s supporters.
The 29-year-old was captured speaking to a fan wearing a City shirt, where he said: “You know what? Bro, I love City more than anything.
“And do you know what I love more than anything? City fans. They’re the best fans in the world.”
