How Nottingham Forest feel about chances of blocking Morgan Gibbs-White to Tottenham

Alasdair Gold has weighed in on what the feeling is at Nottingham Forest and Tottenham about the Morgan Gibbs-White deal after the Midlands club threatened legal action against the Lilywhites.

Gibbs-White’s move to Tottenham was expected to be completed on Friday after Spurs triggered the midfielder’s £60m release clause.

However, since then, the deal has ground to a halt as Forest complained to the Premier League that Spurs had illegally approached Gibbs-White without their permission.

The Midlands club are now thought to be considering legal action, but according to most experts, Gibbs-White’s proposed move to Spurs is still on course to go through.

What Nottingham Forest feel about Morgan Gibbs-White and Tottenham’s behaviour

It has now been revealed by Football.London’s Alasdair Gold that Spurs remain hopeful of proceeding with a deal for the midfielder.

The journalist stated that while a delay now “appears inevitable”, as things stand, all parties expect the feel to go through, and that includes Forest.

There is a feeling among some at Forest that they could be “powerless” to stop Gibbs-White’s move to Tottenham Hotspur should the North London club complete the deal “through the proper channels”.

Tottenham are confident Gibbs-White will be a Spurs player

This update comes after Fabrizio Romano said that Tottenham are confident that their deal for Gibbs-White will go through.

The journalist explained that Daniel Levy and co maintain that they did not do anything illegitimate, but Forest are prepared to fight them, with the case now needing to be resolved between the two clubs.

Spurs fans will be hoping that the issue gets resolved quickly, as there remains the danger of some other club swooping in and potentially turning Gibbs-White’s head.
