EXCLUSIVE: After battling vampires in the box office smash hit Sinners, Hailee Steinfeld now has her sights set on a gold medal for her follow-up project as sources tell Deadline she is set to star opposite Miles Teller in Paramount’s Olympics film Winter Games. Paul Downs Colaizzo is directing. Pat Cunnane and Colaizzo penned the script.
The film revolves around the high-stakes arena of the Winter Olympic Games, a perpetually overlooked skier and a self-sabotaging hockey legend who collide at their breaking points. Their unexpected connection threatens her chance for a medal and his shot at a comeback as they navigate romance and redemption in the Olympic Village.

Steinfeld is coming off one of the years biggest hits with the Warner Bros horror thriller Sinners, where she stars opposite Michael B. Jordan. The film not only blew expectations with $365 million at the global box-office, which included an astounding $278 million at the domestic box-office and as of July 2025, the film has grossed $365.7 million globally, making highest-grossing original movie of the 2020s, the top-earning original movie of the last 15 years, and the fifth highest-grossing horror movie of all time. Following an almost two-year break, Steinfeld made her much anticipated return to music on the Sinners soundtrack with “Dangerous.” Following its premiere, the song amassed over 4.7 million streams on Spotify in its first month.
The film also earned rave reviews, putting the film as well as Steinfeld and her co-stars in the mix for consideration this awards season. Following the films success, Steinfeld saw a slew of offers come in but after taking her time, she ultimately landed on Winter Games as her follow-up pic.
In 2023, Steinfeld reprised her role as Spider-Gwen in Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. The second film in the popular trilogy grossed over $690 million globally and received rave reviews from fans and critics. The first film, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2019. “Spider- Gwen” will make her return in Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse on June 4, 2027.
In 2021, Steinfeld made her Marvel debut as Kate Bishop in Hawkeye. Starring alongside Jeremy Renner, the highly anticipated series debuted on Disney+. She is repped by CAA and Howard Fishman.
