Repair works to a town centre road – which was closed off due to a sinkhole – are to continue into the weekend.
Shipbourne Road in Tonbridge has been shut in both directions between Dry Hill Park Road and London Road since last Thursday (July 3).

In an update today (July 10), Southern Water confirmed its teams have now fixed a leaking sewer pipe – but the road is not expected to reopen until late Saturday.
A spokesperson said: “Engineers started the reinstatement work today, and this is scheduled to be complete by the end of Saturday afternoon (July 12).
“The traffic management is scheduled to be removed on Saturday evening after the road has cured.
“We’re sorry for the disruption this work has caused customers, commuters and businesses.”
Workers spent several days digging down to find the leaking pipe, with the water company previously saying it was taking “longer than expected” due to the number of other utilities in the area.

A diversion is still in place for motorists which uses Bordyke (A227), via the A26 Hadlow Road, via the Ridgeway back onto Shipbourne Road and then it goes to Dry Hill Park Road and Yardley Park Road.
