Prime Day 2025 is here from Tuesday, July 8 to Friday, July 11, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price-tracking tools.

New to Prime Day? We have a primer on everything you need to know. Sales are accurate at the time of publication, but prices and inventory are always subject to change.

Buying a gaming laptop is always tough, if only because of the sheer variety of choices. With a Nintendo Switch 2 or a Steam Deck, you know what you’re getting. But with a gaming laptop, there’s so many manufacturers and so many possible configurations that shopping for a new one can get a little intimidating.

Let me help you out there—this Prime Day, the Asus ROG Strix G16 is a great bet. This laptop has a large screen, isn’t too heavy, and while it leans a bit hard on the hardcore aesthetics, you can turn off its RGB lights if those aren’t your thing. Most notably, it’s available at a number of price points, depending on how powerful you want it to be.

If you’re more casual, consider this entry level deal at $1,300, which is $400 off. It’ll get you a laptop with a powerful Intel Core i9 CPU, a decent last-generation RTX 4060 GPU, plus 16GB of RAM, a whopping 1TB of storage, and a QHD+ screen that supports gameplay at 240 fps. This would have been a dream machine just a year ago, and still stands up today.

If you want something a bit more powerful, consider this $1,999 version ($400 off). This model upgrades you to a more recent Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU, an RTX 5070 Ti GPU, and 32GB of RAM. That sets you up to play all but the most demanding games at high settings and at or above 60 fps, and is probably the best bet for most players.

Still, though, if you want the best of the best, consider the $2,400 configuration ($500 off). Aside from being the best value available to you here, its big upgrade is that it’ll give you an RTX 5080 GPU, one of the best laptop graphics cards on the market right now. Few games will be able to push this laptop to its limits.

for as cheap as $1,274, but what you’ll lose in power probably isn’t worth it. Still, it’s worth looking through the other options to see what might suit you best.

Chances are, you’ll find something that appeals to you. Among a sea of competitors, this is one of the most appealing Prime Day gaming laptops out there, regardless of your budget.

  • Best Buy’s Prime Day competition sale, “Black Friday in July,” runs through Sunday, July 13 and has some of the best tech sales online. It’s an especially good option if you’re a My Best Buy “Plus” or “Total” member.
