These are far better prices than the Amazon Prime Day deals I’ve seen so far.
HP is running a Black Friday in July Sale that coincides with Amazon Prime Day. It seems to be gaming-focused because there’s a coupon code: “LEVELUP20” that takes 20% off gaming configurations exclusively. There are discounts to be found at all price points, however HP clearly has a monopoly on high-end gaming PCs selling at a bargain price point. For example, whereas everywhere else charges well over $4,000 for an RTX 5090 gaming PC, HP somehow gets away with selling its systems for closer to $3,000. The same goes for laptops. HP is currently the only retailer that carries an RTX 5080 gaming laptop for under $2,000. Check out all of the deals below.
HP Omen Max 16″ RTX 5080 Gaming Laptop for $1,640
HP is offering its newest and most powerful gaming laptop at a pretty hefty discount. It features a 16″ 1920×200 display, Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX CPU, RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. The RTX 5080 mobile GPU is roughly 15%-20% more powerful than the RTX 4080 mobile GPU that it replaces. It also happens to be about 5% more powerful than the RTX 4090, which was the previous generation’s flagship card. This GPU should be able to run new and upcoming games at high framerates. I would suggest upgrading the display to a 2560×1600 OLED panel for $190 (minus 20% off). The RTX 5080 GPU can definitely handle it.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has emerged as the most powerful consumer GPU on the market. Although Nvidia has prioritized software updates, AI features, and DLSS 4 technology to improve gameplay performance, the 5090 still boasts an impressive 25%-30% uplift over the RTX 4090 in terms of pure hardware-based raster performance. The 5090 also has more (32GB vs. 24GB) and faster (GDDR7 vs. GDDR6) VRAM compared to the 4090. This GPU is extremely difficult to find at retail price and is currently selling for $3,500-$4,000 on eBay.
HP Omen Max 16″ RTX 5090 Gaming Laptop for $2,480
The Omen Max 16 RTX 5090 Gaming Laptop drops to just $2,479.99 with free shipping when you apply 20% off coupon code “LEVELUP20“. That is easily best price for an RTX 5090 gaming laptop anywhere by well over $1,000. Like the configuration above, I would suggest upgrading the display to a 2560×1600 OLED panel for $190 (minus 20% off). The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 mobile GPU is likewise the most powerful mobile graphics card on the market. In terms of raw performance, it’s actually only about a 10% improvement over the RTX 5080. However, it does have considerably more VRAM (24GB vs 16GB), which is useful for creative professionals and anyone who uses generative AI.
