The Solana ecosystem is expanding into hardware once again, this time through a handheld gaming console set to debut in October.
Play Solana, the team behind the project, confirmed that its Play Solana Gen 1 (PSG1) device will begin shipping on October 6.
The portable console features:
- An octa-core ARM processor
- 8GB RAM
- WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity
- A touch-enabled LCD display
Beyond gaming, PSG1 doubles as a crypto hub, offering a built-in hardware wallet and fingerprint authentication to securely store digital assets.
To celebrate the launch, Play Solana also introduced a limited NFT collection of 2,000 tokens, giving holders early access and exclusive ecosystem perks.
Solana’s growing consumer hardware push
The handheld marks Solana’s latest effort to bring blockchain into consumer devices. The push began in 2022 with the Saga smartphone, an Android-based device featuring Solana-native Web3 integrations.
The Saga generated viral attention in 2023 when a BONK memecoin airdrop sent resale prices soaring to $5,000, far above the $599 retail price.
From Saga to Seeker to PSG1
Following Saga’s surprise success, Solana Mobile launched the Seeker in 2024. The device quickly secured 150,000+ pre-orders and shipped globally in 2025, generating an estimated $67.5 million in revenue.
That success underscored the demand for Solana-focused consumer tech, and the upcoming PSG1 handheld looks to build on that momentum by combining gaming, NFTs, and crypto functionality in one portable device.
