Microsoft is no longer restricting its Xbox Cloud Gaming service to its most expensive Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tier. Starting today, Game Pass subscribers on the Core and Standard tiers will be able to stream cloud-enabled games included with their subscription, as well as select cloud-playable games they own.
We’re always exploring more ways to make your Xbox experience centered around you – your content, benefits, and playstyle. That’s why we’re making it easier to enjoy the games you love, wherever you are, and on any device, the Xbox Insider team said today.

It’s interesting to see Microsoft making Xbox Cloud Gaming available on all Game Pass tiers, except for PC Game Pass. Today, Microsoft is also making select PC games available via Xbox Cloud Gaming for Xbox Insiders subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Core or Standard. However, these cloud-enabled PC games, which may not be optimized for controller input, will only be available from the Xbox app on PC.
“Whether you’re gaming on console, PC, or streaming via supported cloud devices, this update broadens your library and makes it easier to jump into your favorite games across more screens,” the team said today. This update definitely adds more value to the Game Pass Core and Standard tiers, especially now that Xbox Cloud Gaming has a growing “Stream your own games” library.
Xbox Cloud Gaming is currently available on Xbox consoles, PCs, and via the web on xbox.com/play. There are also native apps available for Samsung and LG smart TVs, as well as Fire TV devices. On TVs, you will need to go to Settings, and under Account, enable preview features to access cloud-enabled games with a Game Pass Core or Standard subscription.
