Where to watch Liverpool vs Arsenal: Kick-off time, team news and live coverage for Premier League blockbuster

Liverpool host Arsenal in a blockbuster meeting of last season’s top two in the Premier League this Sunday evening.

The Reds meet their title rivals at Anfield, with both teams winning both of their games so far this campaign.

Arne Slot‘s side won an incredible five-goal thriller against Newcastle on Monday night thanks to Rio Ngumoha’s last-gasp winner.

They also came out on top of their opening game with a late strike, so Slot will hope for a less tense outing this time around.

Meanwhile, Arsenal, who missed out on the title to Liverpool last season, are sitting top of the table after two games.

The Gunners have been impressive and are yet to concede a single goal, having beaten Manchester United 1-0 and Leeds 5-0 so far.

Liverpool vs Arsenal: Reds eye history

Liverpool are on the brink of achieving something they have never managed in their history.

The Reds are on a stunning streak of scoring a goal in 36 consecutive games in the Premier League.

This matches their run from March 2019 and February 2020.

And it also means they are one goal away from setting a new club record of scoring in 37 top-flight games in a row.

Under Slot, Liverpool have scored in 98 per cent of their fixtures, only failing to score in one of 40 outings so far.

That is the highest percentage by any manager in Premier League history.

Last season’s top two have both won their first two games this campaign
  • Liverpool are winless in six Premier League matches against Arsenal (D4 L2), their longest winless run against the Gunners since going eight without a win between October 2007 and April 2011.
  • The last three Premier League games between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield have all been drawn, while the Gunners are winless in their last 12 away games against the Reds (D5 L7) since a 2-0 win back in September 2012, with manager Mikel Arteta starting for the Gunners that day.
  • Only Liverpool vs Spurs (206) has seen more goals of all Premier League fixtures than Arsenal vs Liverpool (198). Since the 2015-16 campaign, it has seen the most goals of any fixture (78 in 20 games).

Liverpool vs Arsenal: Team news

Liverpool started with Dominik Szoboszlai at right-back against Newcastle and the Hungarian starred out of position.

It means he could keep his place with Jeremie Frimpong ruled out until after the international break.

Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley are back fit though, with Alexis Mac Allister remaining a doubt due to a knock.

As for Arsenal, Eberechi Eze is expected to make his debut for the club after his move from Crystal Palace.

But the Gunners have major doubts over Bukayo Saka and captain Martin Odegaard‘s fitness, despite their issues not being serious.

Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus remain sidelined, while Ben White and Christian Norgaard could return for this clash.

  • This is the earliest the previous season’s top two sides are meeting in a Premier League campaign since 2017-18, when Chelsea won 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur in their second game.
  • Arsenal have won their first two Premier League games without conceding in 2025-26 – in only one of their last 20 seasons have they won their first three games, doing so in 2022-23. The last time the Gunners won their first three matches without conceding in a league season was 1924-25.
  • Since the start of 2023-24, Arsenal have scored 33 corner goals in the Premier League – more than any other side in Europe’s big-five leagues in that timeframe. The Gunners have scored from a corner in their last three games – they’ve never done so in four games in a row before.

Liverpool vs Arsenal: What has been said?

Eze will be desperate to make his first appearance in an Arsenal shirt after completing his dream move to the club.

Speaking after joining the Gunners, he told legend Ian Wright: “I thought about coming back from the moment I understood other clubs and what it meant to become a pro.

“I’ve always thought: ‘Arsenal is where it’s at, that’s what I want to achieve, what I want to get to.’

“I’ve been on trial for four years, if I’m being honest. Every time I came to Arsenal, I looked at the seat that I used to sit on when I used to come to games with my brothers, and I’ve said every single time: ‘this is it – it’s time, this is an opportunity.’ I’m not going to say I knew it was going to happen, but that’s the feeling.

“As a player, I have a level of belief in myself. I’ve been playing how I’ve been playing, I’ve been developing this and that, and I had the heart that if it’s meant to be, it will happen, and I believe it will.

“But if it doesn’t, I’m at peace because I know I’m giving everything. So for it to happen now and to be in this position, there is a bit more energy inside the tank.”

  • Liverpool’s Rio Ngumoha became the second-youngest debut Premier League scorer in history (16 years, 361 days) with his goal against Newcastle, behind James Vaughan (16 years, 270 days in 2005). The current youngest player to score in his first two games is Federico Macheda in 2009 (17 years, 232 days).
  • Mohamed Salah has netted 11 Premier League goals against Arsenal, with only Harry Kane (14) and Wayne Rooney (12) ever netting more against the Gunners. One of those came for Chelsea, while the other 10 have been for Liverpool – only Roberto Firmino has more against Arsenal just for the Reds (11).
  • Arsenal defender Jurriën Timber has had a hand in five goals in his last five Premier League starts (2 goals, 3 assists). In the 5-0 win over Leeds, Timber became the first defender to score two goals and get an assist in a match since Martin Skrtel in March 2014 for Liverpool vs Cardiff.
