Jose Mourinho has once again found himself at the centre of a storm, with the media in Turkey suggesting he is to be blamed for Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma slipping through Fenerbahce’s grasp.
Recent reports have it that Yves Bissouma is on the verge of making a switch from Tottenham Hotspur to Galatasaray this summer transfer window.
It is understood that personal terms between the Turkish club and the Spurs man have been reached, while discussions with Tottenham are in the advanced stage.
Galatasaray are reported to be working on securing an initial loan move this summer, with an obligation to buy the Mali international later.
Jose Mourinho blamed as Galatasaray close in on Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma
During this summer window, Bissouma has attracted plenty of interest from sides in the Premier League, the Middle East and Turkey, with Fenerbahce also credited with interest.
However, it does appear that Fenerbahce’s rivals have now edged closer to securing his signature, and the Turkish media have pointed the finger at former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho.
AjansFener quoted journalist Volkan Demir as saying: “Mourinho gave a negative report regarding Bissouma.”
While another journalist, Erdem Akbas, added: “Fenerbahce management brought in four of Mourinho’s starting eleven players for this match. Mourinho is one of the highest-earning managers in the Super Lig and one of the highest-earning managers in Europe. Therefore, the management has the right to expect certain things from Mourinho.”

Why Mourinho’s stance is under scrutiny
Jose Mourinho never worked with Yves Bissouma during his time at Tottenham, with the midfielder arriving a year after the Portuguese coach had left north London.
Still, Fenerbahce were long reported to have shown interest in Bissouma this summer, with the Turkish side even tabling a £13 million bid (around €15 million), one that was swiftly turned down.
Mourinho himself has suggested he has not been given the squad he wanted to secure qualification for the UEFA Champions League and compete for trophies this season, and that has led to a strong response from sections of the Turkish press.
