Chelsea are closing on agreement with Manchester United for Alejandro Garnacho.
Discussions were ongoing over a compromise on the fee last night as AC Milan also stepped up their interest in Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku.
Chelsea are understood to be offering £35million plus add ons for Argentina international Garnacho who is valued at £50m by United.
The 22-year old has made it clear he only wishes to join Chelsea which has strengthened their arm in negotiations.
Daily Mail Sport revealed this week that Chelsea had started off with low offers around the £25m and £30m mark for Garnacho but are understood to have edged closer to United’s valuation.
The Stamford Bridge club have earmarked signing Garnacho early in the window after trying previously in January.

They have also targeted RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons while Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez is also on their radar.
However, they have been determined to balance the books by selling fringe players first.
Nkunku has been the subject of several enquiries from Aston Villa, Leipzig, Bayern Munich and Inter but most have been loan approaches and AC Milan are proposing around £35m for the France international.
Talks are ongoing while Nicolas Jackson remains a loan target for Bayern Munich.
United remain close to allowing Antony to rejoin Real Betis while Rasmus Hojlund is finalising details with Napoli.
