Fall is nearly upon us, and as Labor Day draws nigh here in the U.S. prices are falling at retailers around the country as they gear up for big sales.

But if you’re in the market for high-end gaming monitor you don’t have to wait, because the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 is just $899 at Amazon. That’s nearly a full 50% off the usual $1,599 asking price, making now a great time to splurge on one of these massive monitors.

Part of the reason it’s on such deep discount is that this monitor is now a few years old, but since it’s so high-end it’s remained on our list of the best gaming monitors you can buy due to its premium specs and dominating presence.

We only had two complaints about the display ,its massive price and equally massive size, so now that the price has been nearly halved this display is looking a lot more appealing.

And while the Odyssey G9’s massive 49-inch curved 1440p display is great for gaming thanks to its 240Hz refresh rate, 0.03 ms response time and support for Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, I think it’s also great for basic work since you get so much screen real estate.

Of course, you may have to adjust to having an ultrawide 32:9 1440p OLED panel wrapping around your face during the day. Once you do, you may appreciate how easy the G9 makes it to multitask across multiple projects, since you can literally rotate your head to see what’s basically an entire other desktop on either side.

Plus, the port array is good and includes a built-in USB hub, DisplayPort and HDMI 2.1 ports so you can plug in a modern gaming console and take full advantage of its variable refresh rate, HDR support and other features.

The Samsung Odyssey G9 also has an adjustable stand, so while you’ll want to measure your desk to make sure you can squeeze this 49-incher in once it’s there you have some room to adjust it to your comfort.

This is one of the lowest prices I’ve seen on this gaming monitor all year but I don’t know how long it will last, so act fast if you want one!
