A Turkish journalist has revealed that Yves Bissouma has given the green light to join Galatasaray, but there is one factor holding up his Tottenham exit.
With Joao Palhinha, Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Sarr, Lucas Bergvall, and Archie Gray ahead of Bissouma in the pecking order, the Mali international does not appear to have a future at Tottenham under Thomas Frank.
According to reports, Spurs are working hard to sell Bissouma and two other players before the transfer window closes.
Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have been credited with an interest in Bissouma, but it has been widely reported that the Spurs midfielder would prefer to remain in the Premier League.
Galatasaray and Tottenham disagree on a key detail in Yves Bissouma’s transfer
Journalist Ali Naci Kucuk has now said that the 28-year-old has signalled a willingness to move to Rams Park this summer.
However, he revealed that Galatasaray want to sign the former Brighton man on loan, while Tottenham are insisting on a permanent sale.
Kucuk told Futbol Arena: “Galatasaray management clearly decided that a midfielder would be a good option, so as not to be left out of the woodwork later in the season.
“This was discussed with coach Okan. Now, Galatasaray wants to bring in a player on loan in that area. Because, as I said, they’ll be allocating their transfer budget to centre-backs next year and also spending on goalkeepers, so they want to loan a midfielder.
“At this point, Galatasaray’s primary target is Bissouma; the player is ready to come to Turkey. Tottenham is ready to let him out of his contract. But the only disagreement here is that Tottenham want to sell. Galatasaray want to loan him for a transfer fee. If Galatasaray manages to convince the English club at that point, they will sign him.”
A loan move for Bissouma is not on the cards
The midfielder is in the final year of his contract with Tottenham, and the only way it would make sense for Spurs to loan him out is if he signs a one-year extension to his deal.
A permanent deal thus appears more likely, with reports indicating that West Ham and Leeds United have shown an interest in Bissouma.
According to Italian outlets, Bissouma is still on the radar of Juventus, but he is not the Bianconeri’s top midfield target.
