One of Electronic Arts’ most beloved franchises is about to make a comeback. The sound of boards is starting to be heard, as the date when players will be able to get into Skate’s early access has been announced.
Through a social media post, it was announced that Skate will be available for PC (EA App, Epic Games Store, Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S starting September 16.
A long wait for a game built by its community
The development of Skate took its time, but its release is finally approaching. This title was originally announced in 2020, with a low-key presentation where the developers simply stated that they were already working on the game. Over the years and after some closed playtests with the community, the first details about the game began to emerge.
Skate will be free to play and will require an EA account to register and a permanent internet connection to play. As shown in the announcement trailer, the multiplayer focus will be an important part of the game. It’s also worth noting that the game will feature microtransactions focused solely on cosmetic items for players, eliminating elements that make it pay-to-win, something that its studio, Full Circle, has emphasized throughout the years of development. So, will you be jumping in to check out San Vansterdam?
