Richarlison has revealed whether he ever gave serious thought to leaving Tottenham Hotspur this summer, and has spoken about how Thomas Frank has helped him since he walked through the door earlier this summer.
The Brazilian has arguably been Tottenham’s best player in their first three games of the season, with Richarlison winning the Player of the Week award on matchday one after his brace against Burnley.
It has been claimed by some sources that Spurs were open to cashing in on Richarlison at the start of the summer, but the player eventually decided that staying at N17 would be best for his prospects of making Brazil’s squad for next year’s World Cup.
Last week, it was even reported that Tottenham had offered Richarlison to Crystal Palace as a makeweight in a deal for Eberechi Eze.
Richarlison claims he never considered leaving Tottenham
Thomas Frank has denied that Tottenham ever considered selling Richarlison, and admitted that he is currently his starting centre-forward ahead of Dominic Solanke.
For the first time in his Spurs career, the former Everton man appears to be assured of a regular place in the starting eleven, and he is certainly playing with confidence.
When asked about having the backing of his new manager, Richarlison said (via The Independent): “It was very important. Since I got here, every time the transfer window opens, my name is circled as one who could leave – going back to Brazil or wherever.
“But I’ve always been focused on Tottenham, and I’ve never had a conversation about leaving. I’m in a good moment. I hope to continue working hard and getting the opportunity to give my best.”

Since arriving in North London, the striker has struggled to build continuity, being sidelined by one injury after another.
Some of Richarlison’s Spurs teammates have noted that he is hungry to make his mark this season, and the Brazil international confessed that he is focused on improving his game under Frank.
The forward after Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Man City: “I’m very happy to be back. After a long time, I was able to do a full pre-season. Since the PSG game, I’ve been playing with a rhythm that I’ve not had for a while, so I’ve been able to get into that.
“I’ve been able to play a good game, and this is the result of a pre-season that was very good for me. Now I want to be able to continue like this and play like this.
“There’s been a lot of meetings (under Frank) – but I like that – meetings every day. I’m improving the tactical part and I’m training well to improve – hopefully that comes in handy for our defenders.
“When it was our second goal, we were able to steal the ball, and the goal came out. As I said, I’m going to continue like this, working hard and hopefully things will happen.”
