LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Global Gaming League (GGL) kicked off its new entertainment video game competition league with a star-studded event, SZN Zero, at the HyperX Arena inside the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas.
The sold-out spectacle featured a highly anticipated showdown between T-Pain’s Nappy Boy Grizzlies and Ne-Yo’s Gentleman’s Gaming Team in a Tekken-inspired face-off.
After months of social media rivalry and playful trash talk, the event reached a thrilling climax as Ne-Yo’s team emerged victorious.
Ne-Yo secured the win with a decisive shutout against T-Pain in Tekken 8, advancing his GNTLMNS gaming team to the championship round set for later this year.
GGL Founder and Grammy-nominated producer Clinton Sparks opened the evening, heralding a new era of live-action gaming entertainment. The event also featured musical performances by Rich the Kid and Gelo, known as “Tweaker,” and the debut of the GGL Music track “Global” by Is0Kenny.
The event attracted a star-studded lineup, including surprise guest host Flavor Flav, co-hosts Adam Waheed and Nick Antonyn, and appearances by Daymond John, Bryce Hall, Diamant Blaze, YouTube star Asher Lara, Vardan Antonyn, Nevada, Jay Guapo, gaming personality Wirtual, and motorcycle jump world record holder Colby Raha.
Streaming live on the Global Gaming League YouTube channel, SZN Zero reached audiences worldwide, marking the beginning of an innovative entertainment movement that merges gaming, music, fashion, sports, celebrity, and culture.
“Last night was history in the making, and proof that gaming can have mainstream and mass appeal – even to non-gamers. This is only the beginning of GGL’s commitment to building the next global gaming, sports and entertainment media company that will bring people together and provide new opportunities for gamers worldwide,” said founder Clinton Sparks.
