What Tottenham fans were heard chanting at Daniel Levy during win over Man City

Tottenham had an extremely encouraging performance and result at the Etihad Stadium, but large sections of travelling Spurs fanbase made their displeasure towards the club’s hierarchy heard for the events off the pitch over the last week.

Even though the performances have been very positive at the start of the Thomas Frank era, the mood of the Tottenham fan base was gloomy and even angry ahead of the team’s trip Manchester City on Saturday.

That mainly had to do with the fact that Arsenal hijacked Spurs’ move for Eberechi Eze, with many supporters feeling that the deal could have been completed if Daniel Levy had shown more urgency during the negotiations.

The transfer drama has been brushed off by Thomas Frank, who insisted he does not want any players who do not want to come to Tottenham.

Tottenham fans chant for Daniel Levy to leave

Frank may be looking at the Eze miss philosophically, but Tottenham fans clearly are not still over the whole saga and have been left angered by the way the club were humiliated by their North London rivals.

With under a minute on the clock gone during the match at the Etihad Stadium, chants of “we want Levy out” were heard from the away section.

It appears the impressive display against the former Premier League champions did little to quell their anger as the same chants were heard again in the second-half when the away side were still ahead, and thankfully Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Manchester City went someway towards alleviating some frustration.

Tottenham need a strong end to the transfer window

Thomas Frank is optimistic Spurs sign players before the transfer window closes, but the same cannot be said of Tottenham fans.

Many have seen this script before, with the club leaving their business until very late, only to end up missing out on deals due to a lack of time.

There is no doubt that Levy and the Tottenham hierarchy need to get at least two players through the door to appease the fan base after the way the Eze saga played out.

With Savinho being linked with a move to Tottenham over the past few weeks, supporters will be hoping that the board now up their game.
