A Kent restaurant has been named in a “Michelin-approved” list of the best venues located in vineyards.
The Swan Wine Kitchen at Chapel Down in Tenterden received praise for its food offering – as well as its famous wines.

It was included in a list of ‘The Best Vineyard Restaurants for a Tour Through English Wine Country’ put together by the Michelin Guide.
The entry says: “In Kent, where the warm climate has helped English winegrowing to flourish, Chapel Down is one of the most prolific and well-regarded producers in the country.
“On the first floor of its timber-clad shop building, you’ll find Swan Wine Kitchen – where the best tables have views of the vines.
“To accompany the seasonal dishes, Chapel Down’s own wines include both sparkling and still options, with the latter a less common option from English vineyards.
“Look out for the Kit’s Coty wines in particular, the premium range from the estate’s strongest vineyard.”
Chapel Down was the only inclusion in Kent on Michelin’s list.
Earlier this week, it was announced the chair of the winemaker’s board, Martin Glenn, is to step down in September after five years in the post.
He is set to be replaced by Michael Spencer – Chapel Down’s largest shareholder – who has been a non-executive director since 2023.
