Arsenal outcast wanted by Porto
Porto are continuing to show interest in Arsenal centre back Jakub Kiwior.
The Poland international also has interest from Crystal Palace but is open to moving abroad if he leaves Arsenal.
Porto made an approach in July which was dismissed and have been keen to offer a loan deal with obligation to buy. However, Arsenal still value Kiwior highly and other clubs such as AC Milan have also posted interest.
Ipswich close in on winger
Ipswich Town have had an offer accepted by Leicester City for winger Kasey McAteer.
The initial fee of £12m will be paid in instalments, but the overall fee could rise to £14m with achievable add-ons.
McAtee has completed his medical and agreed to terms on a four-year contract.
Koumas swapping Reds for Blues
Liverpool forward Lewis Koumas is joining Birmingham City on loan.
The Wales international had a number of clubs showing interest after his spell with Stoke City last season and Liverpool have been keen for him to continue his development with more competitive game time in the Championship.
Birmingham, part owned by former NFL star Tom Brady, and their ambitious project to return to the Premier League appealed to the 19-year old winger and he is looking to make an impact there this season.
Sheffield United and Wrexham were among the other clubs to have checked on Koumas, whose father Jason played for West Brom, Cardiff and Tranmere Rovers.
Koumas Jr made his first team debut for Liverpool in the FA Cup fifth round against Southampton in 2024, scoring his first senior goal for the club late in the first half in a 3–0 win.
He scored six goals in 49 appearances for Stoke last season.
Dortmund in for DOUBLE Chelsea deal
BORUSSIA DORTMUND want to take CHELSEA duo Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Anselmino in a double deal.
The Bundesliga side, who are also in talks for WOLVES’ Fabio Silva, have been trying to negotiate for Chukwuemeka as Chelsea have insisted on a permanent sale only.
Dortmund have returned to the table with a proposal to sign Anselmino on loan and a permanent offer for Chukwuemeka.
Juventus, West Ham, Red Bull Leipzig and Nottingham Forest are among a lengthy list of clubs to have shown interest in 21-year old Chukwuemeka.
Palace chiefs send out mixed messages
Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner and club chairman Steve Parish are seemingly conflicted over the sale of centre-back Marc Guehi.
In a worrying statement following Palace’s 1-0 Europa Conference League play-off victory over Fredikstad on Thursday, Steve Parish admitted he may be left with little choice but to sell Guehi in the coming days.
‘If Marc Guehi wants to sign a contract, he can stay,’ the chairman said.
‘It’s a difficult situation, everyone has to sell players to comply with the rules. That’s a situation that we will have to look at in the next days.’
It was an interview which Glasner undermined just minutes earlier in his post-match press conference.
The Palace boss said Guehi ‘has to stay’, and even joked that he may need to lace up his boots amid the Eagles struggles at centre-back.
‘We are very, very late to find replacements,’ the Austrian admitted.
‘I think we could have behaved much better than we did. It’s not the best way to start the season. I think we are below the edge.
‘If Marc [Guehi] leaves maybe I will try my boots because I was a centre back. We have to act. It’s Crystal Palace’s future and we need to add numbers.’
Ruben Dias signs new Man City deal
Ruben Dias will form an important part of Manchester City’s rebuild after committing to signing a new four-year contract.
The Portugal international has penned a two-year extension, with the option of a further year to 2030, and is viewed as a future captain.
City’s director of football Hugo Viana labelled Dias ‘the ultimate professional’ and it is seen as a coup to tie him down during his peak years.
