Thomas Frank has revealed whether Destiny Udogie has recovered in time to feature for Tottenham against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow.
While the Frank era at Spurs has started positively on the pitch, there are major concerns around the developments off it over the last few days.
Tottenham have been forced to look at other number tens after being snubbed by Eberechi Eze, which has led to widespread outrage among the fan base.
Spurs need to get a good result at the Etihad Stadium to change the mood surrounding the club, and Frank has now revealed which players are expected to feature tomorrow.
Thomas Frank provides Tottenham’s injury news
Tottenham’s long-term absentees, James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Radu Dragusin, remain out of action, but Dominic Solanke, who came off the bench against Burnley and has missed much of pre-season, is fit to start.
On Udogie, Frank said (Tottenham Official): “Destiny [Udogie] is better, trained with the team twice, full training, just too soon to be involved for City. We want him to train tomorrow and have another good week next week. He looks in a good place, very positive about him. Biss will miss this game as well.”
On Kulusevski, the Spurs boss added: “[Dejan] Kulusevski is out, that’s a longer one, I don’t want to put a timeline on it.”
Will Frank change a winning combination?
Normally, one would assume that managers will not change winning combinations, but with Frank, we know that he tweaks his team based on the opposition.
It is thus highly likely that we will see the experienced midfield pairing of Joao Palhinha and Rodrigo Bentancur come back into the line-up for Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray.
We could also see Frank go back to a back five as he did against PSG, with Kevin Danso potentially coming back into the team in place of Brennan Johnson.
