A man is to appear in court after an officer sustained a serious injury while responding to a stand-off.
Imman Singh, of Worcester Close, Gravesend, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing an offensive weapon used to threaten another person.

It comes after officers were called to reports of a man with a “bladed” weapon at the address at 7.46am on Wednesday (August 20).
Armed officers attended and spoke to a man outside the property, where it is alleged, he acted in a threatening manner, and a person was tasered.
During the arrest of the suspect, an officer suffered a cut to his hand, the police said. The officer was then taken to hospital for medical attention.
A subsequent search at an address led to the seizure of cannabis.
Singh, 29, has also been charged with possession of cannabis.
The British national was remanded in custody and appeared before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court today (August 22).
He was refused bail and his plea and trial preparation hearing will take place at Maidstone Crown Court on September 19.
