Warner Bros. Games, TT Games, DC, and The LEGO Group have confirmed the launch of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, a brand-new action-adventure video game set in the world of Gotham City.
The game draws inspiration from 86 years of Batman history across films, television, comics, and previous games. It blends the hero’s rich mythology with the signature LEGO humour that has delighted players for decades.
Story-Driven Campaign
Players begin with the origins of Batman as a young Bruce Wayne trains with the League of Shadows. The campaign expands into a journey where Batman builds a family of allies, including Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul. Together, they face a growing threat from a Rogues Gallery of villains such as The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul, and Bane.
Enhanced Combat System
The new combat system mirrors Batman’s iconic fighting style. Players chain attacks, execute counters, and perform dramatic takedowns. Solo players can master the Dark Knight’s gadgets like Batarangs and the Batclaw, while cooperative play introduces unique tools such as Jim Gordon’s foam sprayer, Robin’s line launcher, and Catwoman’s whip.
New Difficulty Levels
For a greater challenge, the game introduces a Caped Crusader difficulty mode and an even harder Dark Knight setting. These modes push players to test their skills beyond traditional LEGO gameplay.
Gotham City Open World
Set in an open-world LEGO version of Gotham City, the game offers crimes to stop, puzzles to solve, and secrets to uncover. Players can grapple between rooftops, glide through the skyline, and driving a range of Batmobiles and Batcycles.
Customisable Batcave
The Batcave acts as the central hub. Players can display trophies, vehicles, and collectibles, while unlocking iconic Batsuits from Batman’s long media history.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. To learn more, please visit LEGOBatmanGame.com
