After being left humiliated by Arsenal in the race for Eberechi Eze, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to respond by launching a huge offer for another one of their top targets.
The Eze saga could not have gone any worse for Tottenham fans, who had already been through the strange Morgan Gibbs-White fiasco earlier this summer.
Only this time, it was even worse. Spurs fans were already talking about how Eze would elevate the Tottenham side, but out of nowhere, their North London rivals have managed to hijack the deal.
According to various reports, Eze has now agreed to move to the Emirates Stadium, with the development leaving Spurs fans on social media fuming.
Tottenham ready to break the bank to land Savinho
According to a report in Globo Esporte, after losing Eze to their rivals, Spurs are now ready to go ‘to the limit’ to secure Savinho from Manchester City.
The report alleges that the North London side are now ready to make an offer of around €80m (£70m) for the Brazilian, which would be a club-record fee, beating out the £65m they paid for Dominic Solanke last summer.
Spurs are expected to formalise a new offer soon, and the London side have ‘vowed to spare no effort’ in getting a deal for the 21-year-old over the line.
A deal for Savinho will be complicated for Spurs
Globo Esporte say that Savinho’s agents are still in London, mediating the negotiations between Man City and Tottenham.
However, the outlet makes it clear that Pep Guardiola’s men are ‘continuing to play hardball’ over the former Girona man after rejecting Spurs’ first offer.
The publication adds that a deal to take Savinho to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will not be straightforward due to City’s ‘lack of receptiveness’ to the Lilywhites’ interest.
