These GPUs were close to each in performance, for example, in Cyberpunk 2077 we got 114 and 110 FPS, respectively, at 4K. Besides that, the competition was neck-and-neck in other titles as well like in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered we got 151 and 151 FPS, respectively. Ryzen 7 9800X3D

Paired with the RTX 4070 Ti, we got 334 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p low settings, meaning that it has no issues keeping up with the demands of the GPU. However, with the 5090, you’ll be playing at a higher resolution, at which point the GPU is pulling most of the weight.

As for the productivity, this CPU delivered 22,568 points in the Cinebench R23 multi-core test and for comparison the Ryzen 7 9700X churned out 22,547 points. So, this CPU can do it all and you should be set for any type of work with this gaming PC.
