Commercial casinos in Massachusetts saw a 0.02% revenue increase year-over-year last month, rising from $99.47 million to $99.5 million.
The figures, published by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, show that of the three casinos in the state, Encore Boston Harbor was the only one to see a loss. Revenue decreased by 2.1% from $61.5 million in July 2024 to $60.2 million in 2025. However, Encore generated over 60% of the state’s income.
Plainridge Park Casino saw the highest year-over-year increase in revenue, 6.2%, from $14.4 million to $15.3 million. This revenue came from slots, as Plainridge Park does not offer table games.
MGM Springfield saw a 1.8% increase in revenue, from $23.6 million to just more than $24 million. Slots revenue totaled $19.3 million in July, with table games generating $4.6 million.
Combined slot revenue from the three casinos totaled $72.2 million last month, up from $68.9 million, whereas table games revenue declined year-over-year from $30.6 million to $27.3 million.
While casinos are increasing their revenues, a recent survey in the state showed that gamblers in Massachusetts are developing more negative views about gambling, as more intense gambling habits also are rising.
