While players lament game prices rising to $80, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford believes that Borderlands 4 is much more valuable than this and we should all pay $200 for this masterpiece.
At the same time, he also wishes it could be given away for free so everyone could experience it.
“That’s not how the business works,” he continued, talking about his $200-free dichotomy. “But the value is there.”
It seems like Borderlands 4’s development is going smoothly, if Pitchford’s praises are anything to go by.Â
“The truth is, when you talk about Borderlands,” he said. “Like, I don’t know how I can say this and sound as if I have any amount of humility. […] Borderlands 4 is amazing. It’s absolutely an incredible game, and the value is undeniable.”
Players spend thousands of hours in Borderlands, but it looks like the next game will be even better: “If you think about that in terms of the most amount that could have ever been spent versus the time of entertainment, you can’t find a better value in the world for any kind of entertainment.”
We’ll see if it’s true when Borderlands 4 gets released on September 12.
