Samsung TVs just got a huge gaming upgrade — no subscription required

Samsung’s Gaming Hub is expanding its offerings with even more interactive experiences, thanks to several new partnerships and video game debuts.

The three new additions come in the form of GameLoop, Volley, and PHȲND, which aim to make Gaming Hub even more inclusive with tons of party experiences — no subscription required.

Additionally, major releases from Gamescom will also be available to play on the same day via Xbox Game Pass on Samsung TVs. These games include Black Ops 7 and The Outer Worlds 2.

The party lives on

For the longest time, Samsung Gaming Hub was the best way to play games directly on a TV screen, largely because it was the only interface with Xbox Game Pass support. Now that LG also has the cloud streaming platform on its own gaming hub, Samsung needs a power play.

And I think these new partnerships are just what it needs.

First on the list is a service we’ve discussed before regarding its inclusion on NextgenTV, which is available through ATSC 3.0 tuners. Called GameLoop, the service intends to make TVs even more interactive with insightful puzzles, arcade classics, and party games that bring the whole family together.

The best part is you won’t even need one of the best TVs with ATSC 3.0 tuners, as GameLoop will be available directly within Samsung’s Gaming Hub. It’s a nice touch, especially seeing as Samsung TVs don’t have an ATSC 3.0 tuner to begin with.

Samsung is also partnering with Volley, a voice AI games designer with titles like Song Quiz, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy!. According to Samsung, Volley is “played in over 30M homes worldwide,” and seeing how popular karaoke is, this should make those late-night Taylor Swift sing-alongs a hoot with friends.

Last, but certainly not least, Samsung has also teamed up with PHȲND. a completely free cloud gaming service that has a variety of casual online multiplayer titles.

All of these new services come together on Samsung Gaming Hub to make it a more interactive space for everyone, though Samsung has not stated when specifically to expect their launch. No subscription is required for any of the new services, and you can use everything from your TV remote to a game pad or smartphone to play all of these experiences.
