Djed Spence posts brutal dig at Mohammed Kudus from Tottenham training challenge

Djed Spence has taken to Instagram to share how he challenged Tottenham new boy Mohammed Kudus at Hotspur Way and there was only ever going to be one winner.

Mohammed Kudus has not always been a popular figure around those at Tottenham Hotspur. He not only played for West Ham, but was sent off during his last appearance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The winger struck Micky van de Ven and Pape Matar Sarr in the face, setting up an awkward reunion when he made his move to Spurs.

However, Kudus appears to have made up with his new teammates and he is off to a flying start in Tottenham colours. His two assists last Saturday were key to the 3-0 routing of Burnley, a continuation of his fine performances in pre-season.

Spurs supporters will be excited to see how the right wing partnership of Kudus and Pedro Porro develops, but another player who could partner with Kudus is Djed Spence.

Djed Spence claims victory over Mohammed Kudus in Tottenham training challenge

Spence and Kudus already appear to have built a strong friendship and the pair recently competed in a one v one challenge at Hotspur Way.

Spence told Kudus: “If you get past me once, I buy you dinner.”

However, according to Spence’s Instagram story, Kudus attempted to beat the defender 10 times and failed to come out on top on every occasion.

It is not the first time Spence has shown confidence in his defending. Last season, Spence backed himself to silence Mohamed Salah in the Carabao Cup.

It seems Kudus himself has now verified that the story is true, replying to Spence’s Instagram story with the message: “My feet will do the talking soon.”

Spence has a big season ahead of him at Spurs

Djed Spence recently committed his long-term future to Tottenham and he has stated his aims for the future. Spence has said he wants to reach new levels, adding that he managed a breakthrough last season.

However, at the end of the previous campaign, Spence still found himself behind Destiny Udogie, while there seems to be no chance that Porro will be dropped.

Therefore, Spence must play his best football on a weekly basis and take advantage of Udogie’s injury, if he is to cement his place in the Tottenham first-team.
