During gamescom 2025’s Opening Night Live, Black Myth: Wukong developer Game Science officially announced Black Myth: Zhong Kui, an upcoming single-player action RPG and the second installment in the Black Myth series.
Currently in early development – with the devs describing the title as “little more than an empty folder at this stage” – Zhong Kui shares the same foundation of Chinese folklore as Wukong and, as evident from the name, will center around Zhong Kui, a Taoist deity in Chinese mythology traditionally regarded as a vanquisher of ghosts and evil beings.
At the moment, the team is, in their own words, “not even done with the outline yet,” and as such cannot provide even an approximate release date. That said, the devs did confirm that Black Myth: Zhong Kui is coming to PC and “all mainstream console platforms,” presumably irrespective of what would constitute “mainstream” at the time of the game’s launch.
