Tottenham Hotspur are set to lose out on the Eberechi Eze transfer deal to bitter rivals Arsenal.
In a remarkable development on Wednesday evening, it has been revealed that Arsenal have returned for the Crystal Palace playmaker.
Eze is a boyhood Arsenal fan and wants to make the move to the Gunners rather than Tottenham, who have been locked in negotiations with Palace over the past week.
The Athletic have reported that Arsenal have now made their move for the England international and have indicated a willingness to meet the conditions of Tottenham’s agreement with Palace.

With Eze wanting to move to Arsenal, Tottenham now have little option than to move onto other transfer targets in what appears to have been a complete waste of time.
Eze had a £68m release clause in his contract which expired earlier this month with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy having been locked in talks with his Palace counterpart Steve Parrish in his efforts to try to land the midfielder.
Kai Havertz’s knee injury has seen Arsenal rekindle their interest in Eze, who previously played for the club’s academy and now look set to have the upper hand in completing the transfer.
Tottenham had looked to have finally made the breakthrough today having agreed everything with Palace and Eze, only for Arsenal now to scupper their transfer plans.

News of this development will infuriate supporters who have been waiting for the club to get this deal over the line, and now face the added embarrassment of losing out to Arsenal.
Tottenham travel to Manchester City on Saturday in their first away match of the Premier League campaign and will do so without any prospect of Eze within their ranks.
