Today is the day we finally learn which “Tales of” game will be remastered next. My hope was on Xillia since it was one of my favorites on the PS3. And my hope has been answered as we are getting Tales of Xillia Remastered!! Honestly, the game itself on the PS3 still holds up well, so they probably didn’t need to do a whole lot to this game.
“Tales of Xillia Remastered is a remastered version of TALES OF XILLIA™, first released in 2011. The remastered title features notable quality of life enhancements such as auto-save and early access to the Grade Shop. The title also features the Dual Raid Linear Motion Battle System, a real-time combat system that allows players to team up with allies to unleash devastating combo attacks and unlock special support skills to overwhelm foes. Tales of Xillia Remastered also includes downloadable content from the original release, featuring character costumes, bonus items, and other fan-favorite extras.“
The quality of life improvements are nice, especially the ability to turn off enemy encounters. This also means that more people will be able to learn about Milla and Jude, a fantastic duo of protagonists. You can even choose to have your perspective as either Jude’s or Milla’s right from the beginning.
One downside is that we are not getting the sequel, Tales of Xillia 2, but I am still happy about the fact that we will get the first game! Maybe the second game comes out to be remastered next, or they will choose another “Tales of” game that is stuck on older hardware.
Tales of Xillia Remastered is slated for release on Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Weird it isn’t included on Nintendo Switch 2. The release date is already here, which is October 31st, 2025.
