Saber Interactive finally dropped some more info on Jurassic Park: Survival courtesy of a behind-the-scenes featurette. The featurette showcases pre-rendered and pre-alpha footage, as well as game developers discussing the game’s high level of detail.
Survival is set on Isla Nublar, the original island for Jurassic Park and Jurassic World (and half of Fallen Kingdom). It’s set directly after the events of the original film — like, the day after. The game stars Dr. Maya Joshi (Payal Mistry, who also did motion capture), an InGen scientist who’s left behind on the Island after the others escape.
Dr. Joshi isn’t a soldier or outdoor survivalist. She’ll need to use her wits and knowledge to avoid the freed dinosaurs and escape the island. Gameplay looks like a combination of stealth, action, and some light puzzles.
Jurassic Park: Survival looks to capture the world of the original film, down to minute details of objects and dinosaurs. As Dr. Joshi, players explore the original park in a fully immersive, first-person video game.
The first-person adventure game was originally announced back in December 2023 with an intriguing trailer that teased the return to the original, doomed park. That may have been a tad premature, as we had to wait nearly two years to finally get the next update.
On the plus side, it’s looking absolutely incredible, with gorgeous graphics and attention to detail, and the chance to fully explore the original park (with some running and screaming, of course).
Unfortunately, we still don’t have a release date for Jurassic Park: Survival, but it’s in development for PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
