Haven Studios
Haven Studios’ Fairgame$ got canceled and uncanceled in a couple of days – at least in rumor. Industry analyst Michael Pachter proves that you should never assume, especially when it comes to the game industry.
In his Pachter Factor podcast, he said that Fairgame$, an upcoming live-service heist shooter by Haven Studios, which belongs to Sony, had been canceled when the studio’s Founder and CEO Jade Raymond left it. The statement slipped when he was talking about Sony’s management strategy.
“And then they turned all their console developers into live service developers, which resulted in Concord being shut down and the studio being shut down. Which resulted in Jade Raymond being let go and her game canceled. They are bad managers. They don’t know what they’re doing.”
While it’s true that Raymond is no longer with Haven, the Fairgame$ cancellation part was a mistake, said not because Pachter has any insights about the matter. In fact, he had to retract the statement:
“I misspoke. Said Jade was let go, and assumed it was cancelled. I have no info on the game at all. Feel free to quote this, I truly don’t know,” he told Destin Legarie.
While this was a mistake, we don’t know for sure if the shooter will reach its release: earlier this year, it was delayed until 2026, and we all know how often games get shelved these days, especially after such news. (Especially if it’s another live-service shooter.)
