Nintendo has been on fire with its presentations and Directs lately — with a Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase and an Indie World presentation both having aired in the last month.
Now, the company is going for a trifecta, with a Nintendo Direct dedicated solely to one of its upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 games, Kirby Air Riders, which is a sequel to the 2003 GameCube game Kirby Air Ride. The new Direct was announced first in the Nintendo Today app, which is becoming an increasingly common way for Nintendo to announce game-specific Directs.

When Does the Kirby Air Riders Direct Start?
The Kirby Air Riders Direct will take place at 9am EDT on August 19, 2025.
The Direct will last for approximately 45 minutes, and will be presented by director Masahiro Sakurai, who you might know best from his work on the Super Smash Bros. series — and for presenting every Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct. Sakurai is known for going very in-depth with the games he works on, so that 45 minute runtime is not particularly surprising, and by the time the show is over it should be very clear what kind of game Nintendo is working with.
