Pistons roster reset
The Pistons will run back much of last season’s roster, which completed a historic 30-game turnaround en route to 44 wins and a first-round exit to the New York Knicks in six games. A new crop of veterans have been added, most notably Michigan alumni Caris LeVert and Duncan Robinson. They replace the team’s top three free agents, who all left: Malik Beasley (unsigned), Dennis Schröder (Sacramento Kings), Tim Hardaway Jr. (Denver Nuggets).
Cade Cunningham will enter his fifth season after earning third-team All-NBA last season — and an extra $45 million — after he helped the Pistons snap a 17-year franchise drought without a playoff win.
Cunningham will be flanked by Jaden Ivey — back from a broken fibula suffered in January — Jalen Duren, Ausar Thompson, second-year wing Ron Holland and Isaiah Stewart.
