At its core, Fractala Sandbox by Ludofractal is a deeply creative experience, offering everything from wavy water and sticky slime to viscous lava, coiling honey, squishy jelly, compressible snow, piling sand, fire, rope, and even explosives. Everything is particle-based, GPU-simulated, and powered by Position-Based Dynamics (PBD) for a highly responsive and dynamic environment.
You can experiment with different materials, discover unexpected reactions, and use your findings in a larger contraption. Or simply tinker with items and combine them to make a pretty diorama. “Some order, lots of chaos, and a fractal to be found in between,” says the description.
For those who love digging deeper, the item editor lets you craft custom items tailored to your designs. And with built-in modding tools, you can expand the game’s possibilities by adding new behaviors and material reactions to the core simulation.
The game has just received a Steam page, so make sure to wishlist it here. Also, if you’re interested in 2D physics sandbox games, check out Zolden’s work on Simulario.
