Tottenham’s Daniel Levy gives his take on Manchester City 115 charges investigation

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has spoken about Manchester City’s alleged financial breaches, insisting that the investigation has dragged on for ‘far too long’.

Tottenham prided themselves on playing by the financial rule book, and unlike many of their Premier League rivals, Spurs are not anywhere close to breaching the PSR spending rules.

However, some other clubs in the Premier League have found themselves in hot water regarding the PSR and FFP rules, with Manchester City being the most high-profile case.

The Premier League have charged Manchester City with 115 breaches of FFP rules over nine years from 2009 to 2017.

Daniel Levy wants to see a conclusion to Manchester City investigation

The charge was first made two and a half years ago, but the investigation appears to have no end in sight.

According to The Mirror, we may not learn the outcome of the case until October at the earliest, as the legal proceedings continue to drag on.

Levy has said that for the good of the game, the investigation needs to come to a conclusion, one way or the other.

When asked about the charges against Man City, the Tottenham chairman said on The Overlap: “I think it would be really unfair of me to talk about another club in the Premier League, all I would say is that it’s going through a process which I think has gone on for far too long.

“It needs to be brought, for the good of the game, to a conclusion one way or another.  It’s unfortunate that we haven’t been able to resolve things internally rather than the recourse of the lawyers, who are earning a lot of money out of this.”

Levy says the criticism levelled against him is completely unfair

In the interview with Gary Neville, the Tottenham supremo also touched on many other topics, including the various criticisms levelled at him.

Levy insisted that he does not interfere in footballing decisions at Spurs, insisting that it is a ‘completely unfair’ allegation against him.

Levy also defended Tottenham’s decision to sack Ange Postecoglou after he delivered a European trophy, insisting that the club’s results in the Premier League last season were unacceptable.
