Kent’s newest McDonald’s is opening today.
The US fast food giant has taken a prime position at Chatham Dockside in a major boost to the shopping centre’s plans to become a “regional retail and leisure destination”.

The restaurant has opened after investment from franchisee Gian Chahal and is set to create around 90 full and part-time jobs in the community.
The 98-seater restaurant will be open 24 hours, seven days a week and offers dine-in, takeaway and delivery options.
Gian Chahal, who now owns and operates six McDonald’s restaurants in Kent, said: “We are delighted to be opening another brand-new McDonald’s restaurant in Dockside Outlet Centre and can’t wait to see local customers, both new and old, enjoy our services on offer.
“People are at the heart of our business, and we look forward to welcoming new employees with the jobs our restaurant will create.
“We’re committed to investing in opportunities for a mix of all ages, life stages and backgrounds, promoting flexibility and equality”.

The Dockside Outlet Centre restaurant has been built in-line with McDonald’s ‘Convenience of the Future’ programme. This combines a new layout with the latest technology to create a more seamless and enjoyable experience for customers.
It marks the eighth McDonald’s franchise in Medway, the last opening at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre last March.
The franchise has taken the space formally occupied by long-standing tenant Choice, which has moved to another unit on the ground floor.
