Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown Sets Xbox, Switch Release Date – Comic Book Movies and Superhero Movie News – SuperHeroHype

Strange Scaffold and Paramount Game Studios announced they are bringing their turn-based beat ’em up, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown, to Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.

When does Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown come out on consoles?

Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch players won’t have to wait long to play TMNT: Tactical Takedown. The game will be available on consoles on August 14. While pricing for the console version is not yet announced, it is currently $19.99 on Steam, so it may be similarly priced.

“Tactical Takedown reinvents the franchise with a strong new direction, combining turn-based strategy and beat-em-up combat,” reads the game’s description. “With both Splinter and Shredder dead and the Turtles nearing adulthood, players battle through 20 evolving levels, taking on classic enemies, like the Foot Clan, in a gripping coming-of-age journey.”

Additionally, the console version of TMNT: Tactical Takedown will feature a Remix Mode, which will be available for free to current owners of the Steam version and included in the console version. The new mode will include double the enemy types and more challenging encounters compared to the normal experience.

When TMNT: Tactical Takedown launched earlier this year, it was met with an average reception. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 73 across 18 critic reviews.

Strange Scaffold has released a slew of solid video games since releasing El Paso, Elsewhere in 2023. Some of these include I Am Your Beast, Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3, and Clickholding. When the developer revealed TMNT: Tactical Takedown, the studio founder, Xalavier Nelson Jr., expressed his excitement with creating a game based on the beloved franchise.

“Building a truly powerful licensed game requires a deep respect for the source material, love for the fans, and a willingness to challenge tentpoles of the universe to create something that both surprises and delights,” said Nelson. “Bringing that kind of experience to life requires an equally powerful relationship – so I will be forever grateful to Doug Rosen and the team at Paramount for their collaboration, and putting their trust in our team to make an original take on the world that soars.”
